This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 13

3:03 a.m.: Donald Leland Kemper, 73, of Iberia, was arrested near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Park Avenue for driving while intoxicated-drugs, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and improper lane usage. A van nearly crashed head-on into an SPD patrol car while the car was westbound on Broadway near South Limit Avenue. The suspect vehicle was eastbound in the westbound lanes. The officer made evasive maneuvers to avoid a collision. The driver failed to yield before finally stopping at Park and Broadway. The driver was impaired by drugs, arrested, and taken to the Pettis County Jail.

10:26 p.m.: Kelly D. Birdsong, 66, of the 28000 block of Carpenter Road, received a municipal citation near the intersection of East 12th Street and East Broadway Boulevard for driving while intoxicated. An officer observed a vehicle without tail lights and that the driver was weaving within their lane. During a traffic stop, it was determined that the driver was intoxicated. He was arrested, processed and released to a sober person.

11:25 p.m.: Tiffany Lynn Woolery, 38, of the 1500 block of South Mildred Avenue, was issued a municipal citation near the intersection of East 12th Street and South Mildred Avenue for driving while intoxicated. An officer stopped a car after the driver failed to maintain her lane and for having an obstructed rear license plate. The driver was intoxicated and processed for DWI.

April 14

12:50 p.m.: Skyler Ray Martz, 39, of the 600 block of West Third Street, was arrested in the 100 block of West Broadway Boulevard for assault non-injury. Officers were dispatched to a business for a report of an assault that had just occurred. Officers gathered information and identified suspects, victims and witnesses. One subject was arrested and released on scene with a summons. Another was trespassed from the location at the business’ request.

Incidents

April 13

6:04 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue for a report of a counterfeit bill. The owner stated a customer used a fake $10 counterfeit bill to purchase some items.

7:24 p.m.: An officer took a report in the SPD lobby of a missing adult.

9:23 p.m.: Officers took a report of a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of North Engineer Avenue and East Saline Street. The victim stated she was making a left turn onto Saline from Engineer when the suspect vehicle was making a turn onto Engineer from Saline and struck the victim’s vehicle. There was no suspect at the time of the report.

April 14

8:51 a.m.: An officer responded to the 2400 block of Greenwood Lane in reference to property damage on a vehicle.

Arrests

April 13

6:13 p.m.: Bradley A. Farrell, 47, of Cummings, Kansas, was arrested in Benton County for boating while intoxicated. He was released.

8:52 p.m.: Daniel S. Oskolsky, 37, of Sedalia, was arrested in Jackson County for felony possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl), felony leaving the scene, driving while intoxicated-drugs, failure to maintain a single lane resulting in a crash, and a seat belt violation. He was taken to the Blue Springs Police Department and released.
