The Otterville Eagles used strong first and third quarters Saturday to beat Tuscumbia 53-40 in the fifth round of the W-K Holiday High School Shootout.

The Eagles outscored Tuscumbia 14-8 in the first quarter and 13-5 in the third to push a 22-17 halftime lead to 35-22.

Kaleb Gaskell led a balanced Otterville attack with 15 points. Michael Barbour and Calvin Comfort added 11 each, and Stetson Shirky had 10.

Zak Vaughan scored a game-high 23 points for Tuscumbia.

Clinton 75, Pleasant Hill 62

The Clinton Cardinals outscored Pleasant Hill 13-5 in overtime late Friday night.

Pleasant Hill overcame a seven-point deficit after three quarters to force overtime.

The Roosters outscored Clinton 22-16 in the final quarter.

Lee Stoppelman scored a game-high 21 points for Pleasant Hill. Trent Buckner paced Clinton with 19.


Tuscumbia 62, Otterville 46

Tuscumbia pulled away gradually Saturday morning to open the fifth round of the Shootout with a victory.

The Lady Lions led 14-10 after one quarter, 27-18 after two and 43-27 after three.

Whitney Lawson paced Tuscumbia with 23 points.

Marci Simmons led Otterville with 19 points, and Kaiti Siegel had 10.

Grain Valley 57, Warsaw 35

Grain Valley used a balanced attack Saturday to beat Warsaw.

Taylor Lipps, Sam Mollet and Katie Sorensen scored 12 points each for Grain Valley.

Haeley Kreisel paced Warsaw with 12 points. Roxy Jackman had 10.
