A Sedalia man was shot early Sunday morning, according to the Sedalia Police Department.
DeMario Claxton, 21, of 400 N. Osage Ave., was shot in the left leg just after 3 a.m., receiving a “severe gunshot wound,” the police said in a written statement.
Claxton was taken by air ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia. His condition was not immediately available.
Investigators have identified four suspects in the shooting. The police have the firearm they believe was used to shoot Claxton.
Claxton’s shooting is not related to an incident last week in which shots were fired into a house at 313 N. Osage Ave., Detective Sgt. Adam Hendricks said. That crime is still being invesrigated.
