Man transfered to Columbia after crash

A Sedalia man was in fair condition Tuesday at University Hospital in Columbia, said a hospital spokeswoman.

Yaroslav Silchuk, 21, was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center after a crash at 12:50 p.m. Monday at South Limit Avenue and West Fifth Street, according to Sedalia Police Department reports. He was later taken to Columbia for treatment, said a Bothwell spokesman.

Silchuk had to be cut from a car driven by Vasiliy Silchuk, 27, of Sedalia. Vasiliy Silchuk was taken to Bothwell where he was treated and released, said a spokesman.

Vasiliy Silchuk’s car was crossing South Limit Avenue when it collided with a pickup truck, reports stated.
