The Helen G. Steele Music Club and Sorosis will host the Entertainment Extravaganza II fundraising event at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Heckart Performing Arts Center at Smith-Cotton High School.
Local actress, singer and teacher, Lucy Clark, will be the hostess and emcee for this event. The line-up of local performers for this event includes cowboy poet Dr. Doug Kiburz, (cowboy poetry), the Symphony Conductor Gwen Kappelman and the Symphony Strings; Strings, Darby Simon; Noah Burnett; The Sedalia Jazz Company; Debbie Mitchell; Tanner Wiley; Mary Frances Herndon and Suze Williams; Dr. Bill Decker and family; the Anthony Beard family; Paul Beard and family with Scott Holloway and other artists from throughout our community.
Come early to hear local guitarist Bill Gordon performing as “Dr. Bill’s Enchanted Guitars” during the pre-show entertainment as guests arrive, take their seats and visit just before the curtain goes up for the show.
After the performances, attendees are invited to enjoy refreshments and a time to meet and greet the performers in the lobby. Tickets are available from Helen G. Steel Music Club or Sorosis members and at Finds Gift Shop, 614 S. Ohio Ave., or at the door.
Ticket sales and donations at this event will help to fund the maintenance, upkeep and improvements to the Heard Memorial Club House on Broadway in Sedalia. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, younger children are free. For more information call 827-0527 or 596-8317.
