S-C soccer beats Center 9-0

The Smith-Cotton girls soccer team beat Center 9-0 on Wednesday in Kansas City.


Jessica Coble scored three goals for the Lady Tigers. Brianna Pollitt added two. Olivia Funk, Madison Hendricks, Kristen Farrell and Shayla Cramer each scored one.


Smith-Cotton attempted 34 shots on goal in the game.


Lydia Sharp made two saves for the shutout.


Smith-Cotton won the junior varsity game 5-0.


Smith-Cotton (5-1, 4-1 WCC) will play in the Kickapoo Tournament beginning tomorrow.


GOLF


The Sacred Heart boys golf team took second in a triangular at Boonville on Wednesday.


Marshall won the match with a 173. Sacred Heart shot a 197 and Boonville shot a 199.


Michael Hohne had the low scored for the Gremlins, carding a 44. Jordan Shipley shot a 48.


Sacred Heart will play in the Kaysinger Conference Tournament today at Warrensburg.

Track and Field


Laker Relays


Smith-Cotton’s Mariona Ward broke the school record in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.63 to finish second at the Laker Relays on Tuesday in Camdenton.


In the boys meet, Smith-Cotton scored 115 points to edge Camdenton for first. The host Lakers scored 113.


The Smith-Cotton girls took seventh with 34 points.


Ward also took seventh in the long jump with a leap of 14-4.


Abbey Perkins took sixth in the shot put, throwing 30-2.5. Allison Sproles was sixth in the pole vault. Sarah Hughes was seventh in the triple jump.


Hughes was third in the 300 hurdles with a time of 52.03.


Smith-Cotton was fourth in the girls 4x100 with a time of 52.46.


Albert Nash took second in boys long jump, clearing 20-0.75. Chance Johnson cleared 6-4 to win the high jump. Zac Volk won the pole vault, clearing 12-0. Keoni Hale won the triple jump with a leap of 42-10. Michael Chernookiy was fifth.


Hale was also fifth in the 200 and second in the 300 hurdles with a time of 41.2. Chernookiy was fifth in the 300 hurdles. Chernookiy also took fourth in the 100 hurdles.


Jon Gilliam won the 800 with a time of 2:04.65. Logan Parham took eighth in that race.


Smith-Cotton won the boys 4x100 relay with a time of 46.44. The Tigers took fourth in the boys 4x400 with a time of 3:43.32, fifth in the 4x200 with a time of 1:35.34 and fourth in the 4x800 in 8:58.95.


El Dorado Bulldog Relays


The Warsaw girls track and field team took eighth at the El Dorado Bulldog Relays on Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats scored 16 points. Jasper finished first with 118 points.


The Warsaw boys took 13th with eight points as Clinton won the meet with 74.


Emilee Proctor was second in the shot put with a throw of 29-11.25. She also took sixth in discus with 92-0.


Rickie Branson was sixth in the 200 with a time of 32.0 seconds.


Jessica Kykendal tied for fifth in the 1600 with a time of 6:03.02.


Shyla Estes took fifth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 20.52.


Warsaw took fifth in the girls 4x400 relay with a time of 5:06.97 and fifth in the 4x800 with a time of 11:58.00.


Austin Larsen took third in the boys 1600 with a time of 4:58.00 and fifth in the 3200 with a time of 10:54.21.


GOLF


Lincoln 169, Stover 203


Boone Kroenke shot a one-under-par 35 to help Lincoln beat Stover and Smithton on Tuesday at Sycamore Creek Golf Course in Osage Beach.


Lincoln carded a team score of 169 with Stover carding a 203. Smithton did not field a full team.


Blaine Winkler shot a 42 for Lincoln to take second. Trevor Kroenke shot a 43 and Tyler Kroenke shot a 49.


Brock Nolting had the low score for Stover with a 43. Justin Clark shot a 60 for Smithton.


TENNIS


Osage 9, Smith-Cotton 0


Smith-Cotton fell to Osage 9-0 in boys tennis on Tuesday.


Blake Potts and Jacob Hedrick fell to Adam Schoening and Philip Kirby 8-3 in the No. 3 doubles match. At No. 2 doubles, Matt Strause and Aaron Walters fell 8-1.


In singles play, Phoenix Painter fell to Ryan Curran 8-2, Jordan Wilson beat Walters 8-1, Schoening beat Potts 8-2 and Hedrick fell to Roman Trowbridge 8-1.
