This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Dec. 11

11:20 a.m.: Lyle I. Ragar, 23, of the 1400 block of Air Park Road, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer stopped Ragar’s vehicle near West Broadway Boulevard and South Quincy Avenue for speeding. After the officer relayed the driver’s information, dispatch confirmed his license was suspended.

Dec. 12

4:50 p.m.: America C. Perez, 43, of the 1600 block of South Vermont Avenue, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of stealing. An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. The caller said an employee had been stealing from the store. The employee wrote statements admitting to stealing and was arrested.

10:20 p.m.: Shaylee L. Lynch, 17, of the 100 block of South Park Avenue, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana. Derick Brent Schreiner, 40, of Independence, was arrested on charges of felony possession of marijuana, felony driving with a revoked license and possession of a controlled substance in a county jail. An officer stopped Schreiner’s vehicle near Green Ridge Road and Snyder Avenue. Following investigation, the officer arrested Schreiner on multiple drug charges and driving with a revoked license. Lynch, a passenger, was booked and released from the Pettis County Jail with a municipal court summons for possession of marijuana.

Dec. 13

4:50 a.m.: Darrin A. Pullen, 36, of the 1700 block of South Prospect Avenue, was arrested on a charge of felony resisting arrest. Officers were dispatched to the alleyway to the west of the 400 block of South Quincy Avenue in reference to a disturbance in a vehicle. While an officer was walking up to the vehicle to speak with the occupants, the passenger, Pullen, got out and attempted to run away. A dead end stopped him. When the officers ordered him to come out, he attempted to flee again but was detained. Pullen had a parole violation warrant and an arrest warrant from the City of Sedalia. A charge of felony resisting arrest has been recommended to the state prosecutor.

Incidents

Dec. 12

12:40 p.m.: An officer spoke at the police department with a complainant who wanted to report a stolen cell phone. He said his $700 cellphone was stolen in early July at a business in the 3800 block of South Limit Avenue. The complainant said he believed the suspects were still in possession of it in another city. The officer had not contacted the suspects at the time of the report, but the investigation is ongoing.

4:05 p.m.: An officer spoke with a complainant who wanted to report damage to his vehicle. He said someone caused about $5,000 worth of damage to his vehicle sometime that day. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

7:45 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 800 block of West Fourth Street in reference to a theft report. The complainant said he allowed an acquaintance to live with him for about a month and a half. During that time, several small items went missing. The complainant said he discovered his wedding ring worth $850 was missing, and that was the final straw. He also noticed a geode worth about $2,000 was missing. The incident is still under investigation.

Dec. 12

8:50 p.m.: Victoria M. Knight, 36, of Orlando, Florida, was arrested in Saline County on charges of felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. Troopers also served three misdemeanor warrants from Bates County.
