WARRENSBURG — The University of Central Missouri’s Department of Art & Design Presents the 2017 high school art contest and exhibition opening Monday, March 6.

The Department of Art & Design is pleased to announce the opening of their annual recruitment event that includes a juried student art exhibition open to all high school art students within a 150-mile radius of the University of Central Missouri and a contest/visit day.

The exhibition opens Monday, March 6, and a reception for the students that are juried into the exhibition, their families, friends and teachers will be hosted from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 11. The exhibition concludes with a senior art student competition and visit day on Friday, March 17.

Hours of the exhibition are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 12 to 4 p.m. Saturday. This year, more than 120 works of art were selected from over 800 entries from 30 schools for the competitive exhibition. More than 500 students, family, friends and teachers regularly attend the exhibition opening reception. Information about Contest Day activities can be found at http://www.ucmo.edu/art.
