Two people were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 1:22 p.m. Thursday in Pettis County. This is an update to information published in Friday’s edition of the Democrat about the accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Robert J. Ingersoll, 28, of Cole Camp, was driving west on U.S. Highway 50, west of state Route MM, when his vehicle skidded off the left side of the road and through the median.

The vehicle struck the ground, overturned and came to rest in the eastbound lanes. Ingersoll’s passenger, Amanda K. Parker, 20, of La Monte, was ejected.

Ingersoll was taken by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Heath Center with minor injuries. Parker was taken by Staff for Life to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City with serious injuries.

Reports indicate Ingersoll was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, but Parker was not.

Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol and Sedalia Police Department reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
