Five sustain injuries in Henry County accident

Five individuals were injured in a two vehicle accident at 5:15 p.m. Friday in Henry County.

Carleen E. Groves, 24, of Lowery City was driving northwest on State route 7 when the vehicle she was driving turned into the path of a vehicle driven by James D. Long, 38, of Lawson, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Wanda A. Belk, 32, of Lowery City, a passenger in the vehicle driven by Groves was transported to Golden Valley hospital by Golden Valley Emergency Medical Service personnel for treatment of moderate injuries. Groves was also transported to Golden Valley hospital by Golden Valley EMS for treatment of minor injuries.

Long and two passengers in his vehicle, Richard E. Brotherton, 43, of Lawson and Tristan J. Long, 13, also of Lawson were all taken to Golden Valley hospital by Golden Valley EMS for treatment of minor injuries.

Reports indicate that all parties involved with the exception of Belk were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
