Sedalia woman seriously hurt

A Sedalia woman sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 3:19 p.m. Monday in Pettis County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, John L. Hamm, 38, of Sedalia, was driving east on state Route 127 at Main Street when his vehicle traveled off the road. Hamm over-corrected and caused the vehicle to travel off the road again and overturn.

A passenger in his vehicle, Sarah L. Cox, 35, was taken by air EMS to University Hospital in Columbia for her injuries.

Reports indicate both Hamm and Cox were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Woman injured in Johnson

A Whiteman Air Force Base woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 2 a.m. Tuesday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Amanda J. Frey, 18, was driving south on state Route 13 at NW 800 County Road when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, struck the ground and overturned.

Frey, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence with minor injuries.
