A site has not been determined, but Sedalia will be home to a new pizza restaurant within the next year.

Pizza Ranch, a pizza, salad and dessert buffet restaurant, announced last week it plans to open a Sedalia location, making it the fourth in Missouri. Ryan Achteroff, chief administrative officer, did not offer any insight into where the new pizza offering would be locating, saying “there is real estate that fits what we are looking for in Sedalia.”

“Opening a location in Sedalia is the next natural move for Pizza Ranch,” Achteroff said via email. “Sedalia is a key focus of ours for a couple of reasons. The demographics of the market indicate a tight-knit community filled with families who appreciate spending time together, as well as a strong workforce who enjoy getting together with colleagues outside of the workplace. The brand’s goal of creating a one-of-a-kind dining experience at a great value and in an environment where everyone feels at home regardless of their age or taste preference also aligns well with what Sedalia residents appreciate most.”

Since a location has not been secured, there is not a set date for start of construction or opening.

“We’re currently seeking qualified franchise candidates in the area,” Achteroff said. “Once a franchisee has been selected for the market, site selection and construction follow. Our goal is to have a Pizza Ranch open in Sedalia within the next year.”

According to a news release, Pizza Ranch was founded in 1981 and has 200 locations across the country, focused in the Midwest and Great Plains regions.

“According to the recently released 2015 Market Force Casual Dining Benchmark Study, which surveyed nearly 7,000 consumers, Pizza Ranch ranked highest among its competitive set in guest experience and loyalty,” the release states. “The consumer satisfaction insight group’s survey also concluded that Pizza Ranch scored highest in service, atmosphere, and food quality.”

The Orange City, Iowa-based restaurant chain offers pizza, chicken, salads and desserts.

“All Pizza Ranch locations feature our legendary buffet — including our delicious pizzas, the Country’s Best Chicken, salad and dessert buffets – as well as our spacious community rooms to accommodate large groups and fundraisers for local organizations,” Achteroff said. “Guests also have the option to utilize our pick-up, group meals and delivery services to extend the experience.”
