Applewood presents ‘Pride and Prejudice’

Applewood Christian School will present the play “Pride and Prejudice” at 7 p.m. today and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday at the school, 25396 state Route O. Tickets may be purchased at the door. The cost is $7 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and students, $4 for preschool children, and $25 for a family. For more information call 827-4700.

Daum Museum Exhibits

The Daum Museum of Contemporary Art on the campus of State Fair Community College is hosting exhibits Christopher Russell, “After the Golden Age,” and “Recent American Ceramics” from the Dr. Harold F. Daum Collection. The Daum Museum is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and is closed Monday. Admission is free.

SFCC to present free noon-time recital May 4

State Fair Community College Music Arts program will present a free noon-time recital Wednesday in the Music Arts rehearsal room, Stauffacher Room 67, on the Sedalia campus.

Instrumental and vocal applied music students will present casual performances of works they are preparing as part of their semester coursework. The recitals will last 30 to 40 minutes and are open to the public. The recital will begin promptly at 12:01 p.m. For more information, go to www.sfccmo.edu/thearts.

SFCC Student Art Show

The 2016 State Fair Community College Student Art Show opened April 14 in the Goddard Gallery in the Stauffacher Center for the Fine Arts. The show will run through Sunday, May 8.

Sedalia Chorale spring concert

An Evening at the Heckart will be hosted at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Smith-Cotton Heckart Performing Arts Center, 2010 Tiger Pride Blvd. Tickets are available at Wilken Music, 207 S. Ohio Ave., Instrumental Influence, Inc., 3127 W. Broadway Blvd., The Liberty Center Association for the Arts, 111 W. Fifth St., Backwoods Guitar, 1601 S. Osage Ave., or through any Sedalia Chorale member. Tickets are $9 in advance and $10 at the door. Students kindergarten through junior college are free with a paid adult admission or with a student ID.

Social Painting Classes

The Painting Parlor, 314 S. Ohio Ave., will host social painting classes from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Private parties available by appointment. To make reservations visit www.paintingparlor.com.
