Warsaw man hurt in Benton

A Warsaw man sustained moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 4:46 p.m. Tuesday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Michelle E. Wright, 45, of Warsaw, was driving south on Cold Spring Avenue, four-tenths of a mile south of state Route 7, when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck a northbound vehicle driven by Dennis R. Brown, 64, head-on.

Brown was taken by EMS to Bothwell Regional Health Center for his injuries.

Reports indicate both Brown and Wright were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Two hurt in La Monte crash

Two people sustained moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 12:18 p.m. Wednesday in Pettis County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Angelica R. Fisher, 43, of Clinton, was driving south on state Route 127 when she pulled into the path of a westbound vehicle on U.S. Highway 50 driven by Brandy N. Salmons, 23, of Warrensburg. Salmons’ vehicle then struck Fisher’s vehicle.

Both Fisher and Salmons were taken by Pettis County Ambulance District to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence for their injuries.

Reports indicate both Fisher and Salmons were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Versailles woman injured

A Versailles woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday in Morgan County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Rosalyn R. Blankenship, 63, was driving south on state Route 5 when she made a left turn onto state Route 52 and turned into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by Russell A. Niermeyer, 23, of Versailles.

Blankenship was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City with minor injuries.

Reports indicate both Blankenship and Niermeyer were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Two injured in Sedalia wreck

Two people were taken to the hospital after a one-vehicle accident at 7:56 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of South Ohio Avenue and West Main Street.

According to a Sedalia Police Department report, Charles Edward Cason, 71, attempted to turn right onto West Main Street when his brakes went out, causing his vehicle to not stop. His vehicle continued north through the intersection and it eventually left the road and traveled onto a sidewalk. The vehicle stopped in front of 112 S. Ohio Ave. after it hit a street light. There was no damage to the building.

Cason and a passenger in his vehicle, Rhonda Jane Jackson, 50, of the 300 block of Scott Joplin Court, were both taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for medical evaluation.
