Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident in a 6:20 p.m. accident in Johnson County Friday night.
Harish Datla, 23, of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, was driving a vehicle eastbound at U.S. Highway 50 at the junction of Business 50 westbound when the vehicle he was driving pulled out in front of a vehicle driven by Gary B. Waterhouse, 72, of Holden according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol Report.
The vehicle driven by Datla, struck the vehicle driven by Waterhouse on the passenger’s side causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the roadway where it overturned.
Waterhouse, along with a passenger in his vehicle, Edna F. Waterhouse, 71, of Holden were both transported to Centerpoint Medical Center by Johnson County Ambulance District for treatment of moderate injuries.
Reports indicate all three individuals were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
A Sedalia teenager was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 9:10 p.m. Thursday evening in Johnson County.
Stephanie D. Scheid, 62, of Sedalia was driving a vehicle westbound on U.S. Highway 50, east of northwest 501 Road, when she attempted to avoid an object in the roadway by swerving right according to a Missouri Highway Patrol report.
The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch and returned to the roadway.
A passenger in the vehicle, Abbigail S. Withers, 13, of Sedalia was transported by Johnson County Ambulance to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for treatment of minor injuries.
Both individuals were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
