Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for Pettis County

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for west central Pettis County until 5:15 p.m., with the main conditions including torrential rain, golf ball-sized hail and 60 mph winds.

The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for west central Pettis County, eastern Johnson County and north central Henry County.

At 4:43 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Chilhowee, seven miles southwest of Warrensburg moving northeast at 25 mph.

Locations impacted include Warrensburg, Knob Noster, Whiteman Air Force Base, Leeton, Chilhowee, Centerview and Post Oak.

Torrential rainfall could be included with this storm and may lead to flash flooding. Residents should not drive vehicles through flooded roadways.
