Woman hurt in Johnson

A Jefferson City woman sustained moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Joseph H. Brockhaus, 54, of Warrensburg, was driving westbound on U.S. Highway 50 at a slow rate of speed. Another westbound vehicle, driven by Morgan E. Dumsday, 18, had “driver fatigue” and failed to recognize the speed of Brockhaus’ vehicle, striking the rear of it.

Dumsday was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Lee’s Summit Medical Center for her injuries.

Reports indicate both Dumsday and Brockhaus were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Warrensburg child injured

A Warrensburg child was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Joycelyn M. Cleary, 21, of Warrensburg, and Robert A. Bilton, 55, of Orrick, were both driving north on state Route 13, one mile south of U.S. Highway 50, when Cleary’s vehicle overtook and struck Bilton’s vehicle.

A passenger in Cleary’s vehicle, Kaelynn Brown, 6, was taken by private vehicle to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg with minor injuries.

Reports indicate Cleary, Bilton and Brown were all using a safety device at the time of the accident.

Clinton man seriously injured

A Clinton man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 9:15 a.m. Thursday in Henry County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Michael G. Wiltfong, 57, was driving north on state Route 7 when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Wiltfong, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Life Flight to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for his injuries.
