Four-car collision in Sedalia

Two Warsaw residents were taken to the hospital after a four-vehicle accident at 12:39 p.m. Friday, June 10 near the intersection of South Limit Avenue and West 18th Street in Sedalia.

According to a Sedalia Police Department report, Darren Lefevers, 51, of the 27000 block of Southwood Lane, was driving north on South Limit Avenue in the left lane when a large panel truck changed lanes abruptly. Lefevers told officers he could not see the stopped traffic and collided into the rear of the vehicle in front of him, causing a chain reaction involving four vehicles.

Lefevers’ vehicle struck the rear of another northbound vehicle driven by Kathryn L. Linville, 58, of Warsaw. Linville said the force of the impact caused her vehicle to collide into the rear of the vehicle stopped in front of her, driven by Molly L. Kennedy, 48, of Knob Noster.

The force of that impact caused Kennedy’s vehicle to collide into the rear of the vehicle stopped in front of her driven by Farren C. Bryan, 62, of the 26000 block of Smasal Road.

Linville and a passenger, Whitney Brown, 11, of Warsaw, were taken by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Kennedy complained of pain to her neck and right arm but declined medical treatment on scene. Bryan complained of chest pain but declined medical treatment at the scene.

Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol and Sedalia Police Department reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
