Pettis County could see some much needed rain Monday, the first official day of summer.

According to Sedalia-Pettis County Emergency Management Agency Director Dave Clippert, Pettis County is in a Slight Risk — 15 percent — chance of severe weather Monday. The main concern is high winds of 58 mph or higher and large hail of 1-inch or larger. Clippert said the time frame for severe weather is early evening to late Monday night.

According to the National Weather Service graphic, Pettis County does not have a tornado risk Monday. Clippert said it will be hot again Monday with temperatures in the low 90s and the heat index in the high 90s.
