Urgent care construction progressing


On Friday, employees of Romesburg Plastering Inc., of St. Joseph, work on the upper rim of the new urgent care facility under construction by general contractor Septagon Construction Co., of Sedalia. The building, at West Broadway Boulevard and South Ohio Avenue, is a project of Guesa USA and will house American Family Care.

Working on the stucco on the east side of the new urgent care building, an employee of Romesburg Plastering Inc., of St. Joseph, adds plaster to the top portion. Ben Myrick, an iron worker with Septagon Construction Co., said Friday the men from Romesburg began stuccoing the building last Monday and planned to be finished by this Tuesday.

As noon approached Friday, employees of Romesburg Plastering began cleaning their tools for a break while working on the urgent care building. Once completed, the facility will house eight exam rooms, an X-ray room, a lab and a procedure room. The facility will offer urgent care, primary care and occupational health services.
