Sedalia woman hurt in Pettis

A Sedalia woman sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 3:55 p.m. Sunday in Pettis County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Philip D. Monsees, 77, of Smithton, was driving east on state Route V near Bahner Road when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and struck a culvert and tree.

A passenger in his vehicle, Carol A. Goodwin-Monsees, 72, was taken by Pettis County Ambulance District to Boone Hospital Center in Columbia for her injuries.

Reports indicate both Monsees and Goodwin-Monsees were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Three seriously injured in Benton

A Sunrise Beach man was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after three people sustained serious injuries in a three-vehicle accident at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, George T. Duff, 54, of Sunrise Beach, was driving north on state Route 7, north of state Route AA, when his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a southbound vehicle driven by David W. Gavin, 29, of Salina, Kansas, head on.

Duff’s vehicle slid and was struck in the rear by a northbound vehicle driven by Rachel Ferguson, 42, of Versailles.

Gavin and a passenger in his vehicle, Courtney Hail, 26, of Salina, Kansas, were taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Health Center in Osage Beach for their injuries.

Ferguson was also taken by ambulance to LRHC for her injuries.

Reports indicate all occupants involved were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Duff was also arrested on a charge of second degree assault.
