A Flood Advisory has been issued for Pettis County until 6:45 p.m. Wednesday after an inch of rain or more has fallen across parts of the county.
The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a urban and small stream flood advisory for Pettis County and Cooper County
According to NWS, at 12:47 p.m. Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms, which could cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. One to one-and-a-half inches of rain have fallen in the past hour across parts of Pettis and western Cooper counties. NWS expects the heaviest rainfall will taper off from west to east over the next half hour to 45 minutes.
Some locations that will experience flooding include Sedalia, Boonville, La Monte, Pilot Grove, Smithton, Green Ridge, Otterville, Bunceton, Houstonia, Prairie Home, Hughesville, Blackwater, Wooldridge, Clifton City, Sedalia Memorial Airport and Lamine.
Drivers are advised to avoid flooded roads.
