Two injured in Benton County
Two people were injured in a three-vehicle accident at 12:31 p.m. Wednesday in Benton County.
Sharon E. Curtis, 74, of Cole Camp, was driving south on state Route 7 at Polk Street when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic and struck a northbound vehicle being towed by Walter S. Jones, 53, of Kansas City, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Curtis and a passenger in her vehicle, Wanetta J. Schroder, 69, of Cole Camp, were both transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance District for treatment of moderate injuries.
Reports indicate all three individuals were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
Warsaw residents injured
Two Warsaw residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday in Benton County.
Barbara L. Norton, 65, of Warsaw, was driving east on state Route BB, west of Faester Road, when her vehicle crossed the center line, causing a westbound vehicle driven by Chad A. Ashford, 46, of Warsaw, to swerve to the left before crossing the center of the road and Norton’s vehicle. Norton’s vehicle began to slide and traveled off the left side of the roadway striking a tree before overturning, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Both Ashford and Norton, who reports indicate were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, were transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance District. Ashford was treated for minor injuries and Norton was treated for moderate injuries.
