Two Richland residents sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 10:10 a.m. Friday in Pettis County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Julianna D. Heim, 50, was driving north on U.S. Highway 65, north of Mather Road, when she rear-ended another northbound vehicle driven by Steven K. Pabst, 56, of Cole Camp. Heim was avoiding a bicyclist and another vehicle slowing for the bicyclist.

Heim and a passenger in her vehicle, Isabella T. Guzman, 14, were both taken by Cole Camp Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center for their injuries.

Reports indicate Heim and Guzman were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, but Pabst was not.
