Fortuna woman hurt in Moniteau

A Fortuna woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 7:53 p.m. Sunday in Moniteau County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Sharlene J. Burkholder, 16, of California, Missouri, was driving west on state Route F, west of Lake Quarry Road, when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the road in a curve and overturned, impacting a tree.

A passenger in her vehicle, Kaylene L. Kilmer 18, was taken by ambulance to Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City with minor injuries.

Reports indicate Kilmer was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and it is unknown if Burkholder was wearing one.

Woman injured in Benton County

A Wheatland woman sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 11:25 a.m. Sunday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Syble M. McGinnis, 59, was driving north on state Route K, two-tenths of a mile north of Snowhill Road, when she failed to negotiate a curve. Her vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.

McGinnis, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by air ambulance to Coxs Hospital for her injuries.

Sedalia teen hurt in Pettis

A Sedalia teenager was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 5:10 p.m. Sunday in Pettis County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Drew Z. Apsher, 17, was driving south on state Route O, 1.2 miles south of state Route N, when he lost control of his vehicle. It traveled through a curve, traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Apsher, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by private vehicle to Bothwell Regional Health Center with minor injuries.
