• There’s a new food vendor at the Fair offering Wondersticks, hook-shaped churros with ice cream stuffed into them. They look like delicious snorkels or the snapped-off handles of edible umbrellas. Sometimes it seems like State Fairs around the country are just an excuse for culinary experimentation, but it is always fun to see what crazy edibles have made it to Sedalia this year. — Columnist Travis McMullen
