Sedalia man arrested for DWI
A Sedalia man was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after a single-vehicle accident at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday in Pettis County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, William R. Ash, 59, was driving east on McGee Road, east of state Route M, when his vehicle crossed the center line. Ash over-corrected, causing the vehicle to skid and overturn several times off the right side of the road. His vehicle came to rest after striking a fence.
Ash, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by Pettis County Ambulance District to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
Ash was also arrested on charges of improper lane usage, no proof of insurance and no safety belt.
Two injured in Pettis crash
Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 2:30 a.m. Thursday in Pettis County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Grover W. Snow, 60, of Warsaw, was driving south on U.S. Highway 65, south of Claycomb Road, when his vehicle had defects, causing it to slow. A vehicle driven by Steven D. Betts, 60, of Hartville, struck Snow’s vehicle from behind as he tried to avoid a collision.
Both vehicles traveled off the right side of the road and overturned. Betts’ vehicle struck an embankment, overturned and became engulfed in fire.
Snow was taken by Pettis County Ambulance District to University Hospital in Colubmia with serious injuries. Betts was taken by PCAD to Bothwell Regional Health Center with moderate injuries.
Reports indicate Betts was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, but it is unknown if Snow used one.
Lincoln woman injured in accident
A Lincoln woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 10:06 a.m. Thursday in Benton County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Barbara S. Baney, 69, was driving west on state Route H, two miles east of U.S. Highway 65, when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and overturned.
Baney, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Benton County EMS to Bothwell Regional Health Center with minor injuries.
