Sedalia woman arrested after driving stolen vehicle

A Sedalia woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon after an officer discovered she was driving a stolen vehicle.

According to a Sedalia Police Department report, at 2:17 p.m., an officer driving through downtown Sedalia ran the license plate of a vehicle in front of him, which came back as a stolen vehicle. SPD dispatch confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen.

The officer conducted a traffic stop near the Pettis County Courthouse on South Ohio Avenue and made contact with two female occupants. After a brief investigation, the driver, identified as Rhonda M. Campbell, 53, of the 2800 block of South Ingram Avenue, was arrested on charges of receiving stolen property and driving with a suspended license. The passenger was released.
