Sedalia man arrested for driving while intoxicated

A Sedalia man was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated Tuesday evening after an officer saw him driving more than 20 miles over the speed limit.

According to a Sedalia Police Department report, at 8:40 p.m., as an officer was southbound on Limit Avenue, he clocked a northbound vehicle driving 56 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone. The officer was able to turn around and catch up to the vehicle at the Broadway Boulevard intersection. The vehicle then turned west and pulled into a parking lot near the Sunset Avenue intersection.

The officer made contact with the driver, identified as Jackson Lane Mullins, 25, of the 4000 block of Par Five Drive, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. After further investigation and field sobriety tests were taken, the suspect was taken into custody. A breath test was administered and the suspect was taken to the Pettis County Jail.
