The following cases were resolved Sept. 6 in the Pettis County Circuit Court with Judge Robert Koffman presiding, according to information from Pettis County Prosecuting Attorney Phillip Sawyer.
Michael Burgess, 24, of Sedalia, was sentenced to 10 years in the Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to first degree assault. Sawyer alleged that May 26, 2015, the defendant saw the male victim walking in the area of Fifth Street and Osage Avenue crossing the intersection, became upset the individual was crossing in front of him, honked his horn and then sped up, intentionally striking the victim with his vehicle.
Michael Bunting, 33, of Sedalia, entered a plea of guilty to possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and two counts of felony resisting arrest. She was sentenced to eight years in the Department of Corrections for the distribution charge and four years on each of the resisting arrest charges.
Barbara Terrell, 41, of Jefferson City, entered a plea of guilty to possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). She was sentenced to seven years in the Department of Corrections.
