SpoFest will host an evening of original spoken word created by local poets and writers from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7 at the Café Blackadder in Warrensburg.
Warrensburg musician Tony Shaffer will read original work and perform acoustic music during the event. In addition, four first-time readers will read for SpoFest: Damon Freed, Jack Miller, Scott Umphrey and Eddie Osborne.
Those attending may enjoy a meal while they listen; Cafe Blackadder provides gourmet-quality made-from-scratch meals, sandwiches and desserts.
“We continually develop partnerships with local farmers and other local business owners to provide a unique menu highlighting the freshest seasonal ingredients,” Café Blackadder said. “Our menu reflects a blending of our regional cuisine with selections picked up from our travels throughout the U.S. and abroad, always with Julie’s special touches.”
