Smithton PTO hosts carnival

Opfer was attending the carnival with her friend, Smithton student Aubree Huddleston. The PTO fundraising event was also hosted in the school’s new gym and in the multipurpose building.

Lauer said besides the carnival they were also having an auction and a pasta dinner Saturday evening. All the funds would benefit classrooms such as with field trips and Chromebooks.

Inside the multipurpose Building, Aidan Huddleston, 12, a Smithton R-VI student, plays Plinko, during the Smithton PTO Carnival on Saturday. Huddleston went on to win a plastic, inflatable guitar. PTO member Holly Frazee said the group raises approximately $20,000 each year for the school. She added that the carnival/dinner/auction is their biggest fundraiser.
