Two women were injured in a three-vehicle accident at 6:18 p.m. Friday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, two northbound vehicles driven by Tina M. McKinney, 33, of Warrensburg, and Michelle L. Cocke, 37, of Sedalia, were stopped on Business 13 at NW 400 Road for a vehicle turning in front of them. A third northbound vehicle, driven by Karli D. Conard, 19, of Centerview, failed to yield and overtook McKinney’s vehicle, causing it to overtake Cocke’s vehicle.

Conard was taken by private vehicle to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg with minor injuries. McKinney was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to WMMC with serious injuries.

Reports indicate all three drivers were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol and Sedalia Police Department reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
