Belton man hurt in Henry

A Belton man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Henry County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Aaron A. Smart, 55, was driving a semi-truck north on state Route 7, a half mile west of County Road NW 1501, when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, struck a guardrail and overturned.

Smart, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Golden Valley Ambulance to Belton Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

Man seriously injured in Benton

An Urbana man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Kenneth L. VanCamp, 23, was driving a dirt bike on a dirt track in the 34000 block of Peters Avenue when he traveled up a hillcrest, became airborne, landed on the front tire and was ejected.

VanCamp, who was wearing a helmet, was taken by air ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for his injuries.
