Special services will take place this weekend at Calvary Baptist Church in Sedalia and at First Baptist Church in Stover with the performance of the Satterwhite Brothers Quartet during the Family Reunion Revival for the Family of God.

The quartet is comprised of brothers and ministers Don, Ron, David and Cliff Satterwhite. The Rev. Don Satterwhite, pastor of Calvary Baptist, said his brother Cliff will be unable to make the trip to Sedalia this weekend, so special guest Dr. John Kaiser, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, will sing in his place. Don’s twin, the Rev. Ron Satterwhite, is the pastor of First Baptist in Stover.

The brothers have sang in several states including Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina and Connecticut, but haven’t sang together for several years except at their mother Erma Dean Satterwhite’s funeral in December 2016. The performance this week is a reunion for the men and their families.

“This will be the first time to sing without our mother and also the first time without my sister (Barbara Satterwhite Kingman),” Ron said Wednesday. “My sister passed away a couple years ago and she was our piano player.”

“We knew our mother knew Jesus,” Don said from his office at Calvary Baptist. “People say ‘how did four boys in one family go into ministry?’ Then they will say ‘what did your father do?’ He sold insurance, but it wasn’t our father, he was a good man, a Godly man … but it was our mother who lived the Christ-like example. She led us to be in ministry. My older brother was first and then the others followed suit.”

Don added that he is excited to bring the Satterwhite family to Sedalia.

“I think the people are pretty excited about it,” he added. “We are hoping for a good revival.”

The men will sing a selection of Southern Gospel songs such as “Beulah Land,” “Precious Memories,” The Lighthouse” and “I’ll Fly Away,” plus some contemporary songs.

The Satterwhite Brothers Quartet will perform during the 6 p.m. Saturday service and at 10 a.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church, 1015 W. 16th St in Sedalia. At 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday they will sing at First Baptist Church, 104 N. Cherry St. in Stover. The Rev. Don Satterwhite said they welcome everyone to attend the services.
