Sedalia man injured in crash
A Sedalia man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 6:55 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13 near the intersection of West 24th Street and South Kentucky Avenue.
According to a Sedalia Police Department report, Timothy K. Koch, 52, of the 3200 block of East Broadway Boulevard, lost control of his vehicle while he was going through the intersection of West 24th Street and South Kentucky Avenue. He was unable to explain exactly what happened to the officer.
Koch was taken by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center with a head injury.
Woman injured in local crash
A Sedalia woman was injured in a three-vehicle accident at 3:04 p.m. Monday near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South State Fair Boulevard.
According to a Sedalia Police Department report, Kathryn Johnson, 75, of Mora, was attempting to make a right turn from State Fair Boulevard to Broadway Boulevard when the driver’s side rear quarter panel of her vehicle was struck by the front bumper of a westbound vehicle driven by Jennifer K. Thompson, 38, of the 900 block of Westwood Drive. Johnson’s vehicle then spun counter-clockwise and her front bumper struck the rear of a towed trailer driven by James E. Walter, 61, of the 22000 block of state Route H.
Thompson was driving west on Broadway Boulevard when she saw Johnson’s vehicle begin to turn into her lane. She said she was unable to avoid a collision.
Witnesses stated Thompson had a green light at the time of the accident.
Johnson was taken by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center for chest pain.
