Author Robin Riesel Naeger, formerly of Sedalia, will host a book signing for her new book “The Magic Candle” from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Reader’s World, 1400 S. Limit Ave., Suite 70, in Sedalia.

Information from her website states, “An avid reader since a young girl, Robin’s love of word pictures and stories has only grown over the years. ‘As I have read to my daughters and now grandchildren. It is such a thrill to see that look of anticipation on a child’s face when they cannot wait to know what is next! That is what I strive to create when I write.’”

“(My book) is about a little girl and the community she lives in,” Naeger, a 1979 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, said by email. “The theme is faith, community, and the redemptive power of love and forgiveness. She is the central character around which the lives and stories of a handful of others revolves. I have been a writer all of my life, but finally started on the lifelong dream of becoming a published author about five years ago.

“I actually just finished the raw draft of my next book, and am in the editing phase of that,” she added. “It is a different story all together. There will be sequels to both, in which I hope to include, in a natural way, some of my poetry and recipes. My next project however, is one I did a few years ago which is a coffee table book for evangelistic use.”
