A Sedalia woman has been arrested on drug-related charges after a search warrant was served at her residence Wednesday.
According to a Sedalia Police Department release, at 6:33 a.m., SPD detectives and officers arrived at a residence in the 1800 block of South Harrison Avenue to execute a knock-and-announce drug-related search warrant. Officers knocked on the door but received no answer. After a reasonable amount of time, the door was forced open. Two adults were detained without incident.
A SPD K9 team was deployed within the home, and the K9 alerted to the presence of narcotic odor throughout the residence. A search revealed measurable amounts of both low- and high-grade marijuana, drug packaging materials/supplies, drug paraphernalia, a loaded handgun and cash, which is suspected to be the profits from marijuana sales.
Jessica M. Valentine, 31, of the residence, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
She is being held at the Pettis County Jail on a $50,000 bond, cash or surety. Hearing information was not available at press time.
