Donut shop gets eyebrow lift

Sedalia’s iconic pastry shop Papa Jake’s Donut Shop, 1200 W. 16th St., has work done on its “eyebrow roof” Monday. Steve Twenter, descending the ladder and owner of Twenter Construction Co., said the men started work on the small roof Monday because the shop is closed that day.

Josh Twenter uses a cordless drill and torx screws to reattach the rafters after the sheeting was removed from the small roof overhang at Papa Jake’s.

Steve Twenter, owner of Twenter Construction Co., said they will have the sheeting back on by today and have the roof almost ready for shingles. The men will return after the shop closes this afternoon to finish the project.
