Clinton woman injured in crash

A Clinton woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 12:35 p.m. Friday in Henry County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Vicki L. McGowan, 34, of Raymore, and Pamela S. Taylor, 62, were both driving southbound on state Route 7, a half mile south of state Route C, when Taylor slowed and pulled to the right side of the road. McGowan attempted to pass the vehicle, and Taylor made a left turn into the path of McGowan.

Both vehicles traveled off the left side of the road and came to rest.

Taylor was taken to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton with minor injuries.

Reports indicate both Taylor and McGowan were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Blue Springs man injured in Saline

A Blue Springs man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 4:05 p.m. Saturday in Saline County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Zachary A. Winters, 23, was driving west on Interstate 70 at the 63.6 mile marker when he fell asleep. His vehicle then struck the rear of another westbound vehicle, which left the scene.

Winters, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Concordia EMS to I-70 Community Hospital in Sweet Springs with minor injuries.

Two injured in Henry accident

Two people sustained injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 2:10 p.m. Sunday in Henry County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Erica M. Hart, 37, of Clinton, was driving south on state Route 13, seven-tenths of a mile north of state Route N, when she failed to negotiate a curve and her vehicle traveled off the right side of the road. She overcorrected, causing the vehicle to return to the road, cross over state Route 13, and overturn.

Hart was taken by air ambulance to Research Medical Center in Kansas City with serious injuries.

A passenger in her vehicle, Isaiah C. Singleton, 18, of Knob Noster, was taken by ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg with moderate injuries.

Reports indicate both Hart and Singleton were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Four injured in Pettis crash

Four people were injured in a three-vehicle accident at 4 p.m. Sunday in Pettis County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Scott A. Hehner, 30, of Smithton, was driving a motorcycle north on Bothwell State Park Road, north of Bothwell Park Road, behind motorcycles driven by Caleb D. Miller, 23, of Sedalia, and Jason W. Nichols, 27, also of Sedalia.

Hehner’s vehicle struck the right side of Miller’s vehicle, then the rear of Nichols’ vehicle. Hehner and Nichols’ vehicles overturned, ejecting Hehner and Nichols’ passenger, Heather R. Nichols, 24, also of Sedalia.

Hehner was taken by private vehicle to Bothwell Regional Health Center with moderate injuries.

Heather, with moderate injuries, and Jason, with minor injuries, were both taken by private vehicle to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Miller sustained minor injuries but left the scene prior to treatment.

Reports indicate all four were wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Man injured in Saline County crash

A Columbia man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 9:05 a.m. Monday in Saline County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Kwasi O. Vann, 20, was driving east on Interstate 70 at the 84.4 mile marker when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the road. He overcorrected, causing the vehicle to return to the road.

It again traveled off the left side of the road and struck a cable post and guardrail.

Vann, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia with minor injuries.

Stover man killed in Morgan crash

A Stover man was killed in a single-vehicle accident at 10:17 p.m. Saturday in Morgan County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Steven J. Horton, 61, was driving south on Ivy Bend Road, 159 feet south of Leprechaun Lane, when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, struck a masonry wall, overturned and partially ejected Horton.

Horton was pronounced dead at the scene by Morgan County Coroner M.B. Jones at 9:40 a.m. Sunday.

Reports indicate Horton was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Cole Camp woman injured in crash

A Cole Camp woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 4:28 p.m. Sunday in Morgan County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Steven A. Tower, 65, of Stover, was driving north on state Route 135, two-tenths of a mile south of Dixie Road, when he swerved to miss a deer, causing the vehicle to travel off the left side of the road.

Tower overcorrected, causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the road and strike a tree.

A passenger in his vehicle, Beverly Crawford, 56, was taken by Mi-Missouri EMS to Bothwell Regional Health Center with minor injuries.

Reports indicate both Crawford and Tower were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
