Holden man seriously injured
A Holden man sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 9:15 p.m. Monday in Johnson County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Richard D. Cawley, 51, was driving south on state Route 131, when his vehicle, for an unknown reason, traveled off the right side of the road, onto NW 800 Road and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Ashley R. Duncan, 24, of Holden.
Cawley was taken by Life Flight to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for his injuries.
Reports indicate Duncan was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, but Cawley was not.
Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol and Sedalia Police Department reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
