Two injured in Johnson crash

Two Warrensburg residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 3:10 p.m. Friday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Selah M. Kilgore, 15, and Carol L. Ryle, 65, of Centerview, were both driving north on Business 13 at County Road NW 425. Ryle’s vehicle overtook and struck the rear of Kilgore’s vehicle.

Kilgore and a passenger in her vehicle, Stephanie M. Culp, 39, were both taken by private vehicle to Western Missouri Medical Center with minor injuries.

Reports indicate all three individuals were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Woman injured in Johnson accident

A Pleasant Hill woman sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Alyssa M. Smith, 20, was driving south on NW 601 Road, north of NW 105 Road, when her vehicle slid off the right side of the road, where it struck a utility pole and two mailboxes.

Smith, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for her injuries.

La Monte man seriously injured

A La Monte man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 11:45 a.m. Saturday in Pettis County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Michael O. Kelley, 59, was driving a semi-truck north on state Route 127, north of state Route D, when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, overturned and struck a fence.

Kelley, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Sweet Springs Ambulance District to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall for his injuries.

Woman injured in two-car crash

A Higginsville woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 2:40 p.m. Saturday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Krisilea R. Ivie, 41, had her northbound vehicle temporarily stopped on state Route 13, south of County Road NW 575, waiting on a vehicle to make a left turn. A northbound vehicle driven by Rand D. Brown, 33, of Warrensburg, failed to notice Ivie’s vehicle and his vehicle struck the rear of her vehicle.

Ivie, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by private vehicle to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg with minor injuries.

Leeton man arrested for DWI

A Leeton man was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after a single-vehicle accident at 12:45 a.m. Sunday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Devan L. Plakorus, 21, was driving south on state Route 13, south of SW 600 Road, when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and down an embankment, where it struck a ditch and several trees.

Plakorus, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by private vehicle to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg with moderate injuries.

Clarksburg man killed in Moniteau

A Clarksburg man was killed in a single-vehicle accident at 4 a.m. Sunday in Moniteau County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, James M. Stone, 24, was driving south on state Route H, about six-tenths of a mile north of Old 12 Highway, when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, vaulted over a driveway and overturned, ejecting Stone.

Stone was pronounced dead at 5:20 a.m. by Moniteau County Coroner Lloyd Fulks.

Reports indicate Stone was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
