Raytown man arrested for DWI

A Raytown man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a single-vehicle accident at 9:36 p.m. Friday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Carey J. Walden, 42, was driving a four-wheeler south in the 11000 block of White Rock Avenue when, in his inebriated state, fell off the vehicle and landed in the middle of the road on his head.

Walden was taken by Life Flight to Research Medical Center in Kansas City with serious injuries.

Deer causes Henry accident

An Overland Park, Kansas, woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 10:20 p.m. Saturday in Henry County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Alan K. Doty, 53, of Overland Park, Kansas, was driving north on state Route 7, three-tenths of a mile south of County Road NW 901 when his vehicle struck a deer in the road.

A passenger in his vehicle, Tresa A. Doty, 51, was taken by Life Flight to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City with serious injuries.

Reports indicate both Alan and Tresa were both wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
