Warsaw man killed in crash
A Warsaw man was killed in a two-vehicle accident at 11:54 a.m. Tuesday in Benton County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Jack L. Flynn, 80, was driving east on state Route BB, just east of Hare Drive, when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve. His vehicle crossed the center of the road and struck a westbound vehicle driven by Zachary A. Igou, 24, of Independence, head-on. Both vehicles came to rest off the roadway.
Flynn was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:10 p.m. by Benton County Coroner Weston Miller.
Igou was taken by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center with moderate injuries.
Reports indicate Igou was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, but Flynn was not.
Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol and Sedalia Police Department reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
