Dickie-Doo Bar-B-Que entertainment schedule

Dickie Doo Bar-B-Que, 4800 S. Limit Ave., hosts a Jam Night at 8 p.m. every Thursday. Weekend bands are as follows:

Today: 8:30 p.m., VHS Rewind to the ’80s featuring Clay Clear, P.B. Wilson, Mike Adams, Nick Clear.

Old Drum Open Mic

Thursday: 6 to 8 p.m. at Tranquility Shop, 128 N. Holden St., in downtown Warrensburg.

Scheduled presentations include Henry Yeager’s memoir “Grandma’s Favorite;” Debbie Noland with the poems “Bland Verse,” “The Maple Leaf” and “Chuck the Tour Guide Teaches Us About Hair;” Jo Narron with the original song “Just a Mile from my Heart;” Phil Wagner will perform two songs “Big River” and “Keep it In Your Pantry.”

Two new writers are scheduled to present: Gianna Kirchner with the poems “Soul Shadows” and “What Vanity Kills,” as well as Skyler Tesp with the poem “10 Things I Hate About You.”

The sessions are free and open to the public.

SFCC arts

Wednesday: Noontime recitals on campus, Stauffacher Center for the Fine Arts Room 67; event is free.

Thursday: 6 p.m., Jingle on the Green, holiday musical vignettes across the Sedalia campus; event is free.

Social Painting Classes

Thursday, Friday and Saturday: 7 to 9 p.m., The Painting Parlor, 314 S. Ohio Ave., will host social painting classes. Private parties available by appointment. To make reservations visit
