Kansas man injured in Henry

A Leawood, Kansas, man sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 1:47 p.m. Tuesday in Henry County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Neil E. Holmes, 71, was driving south on state Route 7, a half mile south of County Road NW 900, when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Holmes, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Garden City Ambulance District to Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville for his injuries.

Vehicle strikes Sedalia residence

A vehicle hit the side of a residence in the 700 block of East 10th Street in a single-vehicle accident at 1:53 a.m. Wednesday in Sedalia.

According to a Sedalia Police Department report, officers responded to a report of a vehicle accident near the intersection of East 10th Street and South Hancock Avenue. An eastbound white SUV struck a parked vehicle on 10th Street, lost control and struck a stop sign at the Hancock Avenue intersection, then impacted a residence. The SUV came to rest inside a room on the northeast corner of the home.

No injuries were reported but the residence sustained extensive damage.

The driver fled the scene and had not been located at the time of the report. When officers arrived on scene, they found the car inside the home with two doors open and no occupants. Both airbags were deployed and a small amount of blood was found on the driver’s side airbag.

There were no witnesses at the initial event.
