Three injured in Benton crash
Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Benton County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Cynthia L. Heckelbeck, 56, of Warsaw, was driving south on state Route 7, about one mile north of state Route KK, when she attempted to make a right-hand turn into a private drive. A northbound vehicle driven by Patrick G. Gross, 71, of Clinton, failed to yield and struck Heckelbeck’s vehicle.
Heckelbeck’s vehicle traveled off the north side of the road and Gross’ vehicle came to rest in the middle of the road.
Heckelbeck and a passenger in her vehicle, Jazmine N. Holbert, 18, of Warsaw, were both taken by Life Flight to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
Gross was taken by private vehicle to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton with minor injuries.
Reports indicate all three people involved were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
Man injured in Moniteau crash
A Centertown man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Moniteau County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Cody A. Hentges, 19, was driving west on Lookout Trail, east of String Creek Road, when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and overturned, striking a fence.
Hentges, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City with minor injuries.
