Sedalia woman injured in three-vehicle crash
A Sedalia woman was injured in a three-vehicle accident at 4:14 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of U.S. Highway 50 and Thompson Boulevard.
According to a Sedalia Police Department report, Dorothy Hunt, 73, of the 3400 block of South Grand Avenue, was driving east on U.S. Highway 50 approaching Thompson Boulevard when she realized traffic was stopped in front of her. She stated she tried to stop, but was not able to before colliding with a vehicle stopped in front of her driven by Amber Wemhoener, 35, of the 1600 block of East 15th Street.
The force of impact caused Wemhoener’s vehicle to collide with the rear of the vehicle stopped in front of her, driven by Vera J. Fletchall, 59, of the 2500 block of state Route M.
Hunt was taken by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center for pain in her lower left abdomen.
Both Wemhoener and Fletchall told SPD officers they were completely stopped when their vehicles were struck from behind while in traffic.
Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol and Sedalia Police Department reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
