Christmas lights shine bright across Sedalia

Many Sedalia residents are getting into the Christmas spirit by decorating their homes this season. In the 2400 block of South Kentucky Avenue a homeowner has added colorful lighted gifts and snowflakes to a tree in the front yard to create a festive holiday display.

A home at West 14th Street and South Barrett Avenue is decorated with lighted cedar boughs and wreathes along a white fence for the Christmas season.

In Hunter’s Ridge, west of Sedalia, a home located on West Timber Ridge Drive uses a sled and ice skates as festive holiday decoration near the front door. The homeowner also decorated with a lighted, trembling snowman, a trio of colorful penguins, a lighted dog that wagged its tail and a Christmas tree lit in an upstairs window.

Santa “drives” his sleigh and reindeer in a yard in Walnut Hills, located in the 5000 block of Locust Lane, near lighted trees and shrubbery.

Sedalia Fire Department Headquarters on West 16th Street decorated the front lawn this year with a giant snow globe for Christmas. Santa’s red suit seems to be appropriately coordinated with SFD fire trucks and garage doors.

Santa seems to have nodded off on a comfortable porch swing at this festive home in the 2600 block of Southwest Boulevard Thursday evening.
