This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Dec. 17

9:38 a.m.: Maria G. Fernandez-Mercado was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

5:48 p.m.: Mary E. Riley, 39, of the 19000 block of Highway EE in Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting under $50.

9:13 p.m.: Joseph Eugene Whitlow Jr, 39, of the 400 block of North Stewart Avenue in Sedalia, was arrested near the intersection of West Pacific Street and Moniteau Avenue on three charges of possession of narcotics, one count of possession of marijuana, one count of abuse and use (drug possession while driving a motor vehicle), and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop for no front license plate. Following his arrest, officers obtained a search warrant for his residence and found what is suspected to be methamphetamine and more marijuana. He was taken to the Pettis County jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges.

Incidents

Dec. 16

11:41 a.m.: A report of a burglary was taken in the 900 block of East Ninth Street.

Dec. 17

A report of a theft by stealing of three pieces of jewelry worth $3,400 was taken in the 1300 block of East 14th Street.
